Hello, this is Raghav. I am joining as an Assistant Professor of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering (IME) at FAMU-FSU College of Engineering in August 2024. My research broadly involves developing physics-informed machine-learning techniques. I have two funded positions open for students interested in doing a PhD. A background in Industrial or Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or any related discipline is preferred. Exposure to Machine Learning/Statistics/Data Science with an interest in math and coding is a big plus. Please reach out to me via raghavg@vt.edu.

Research Interests

My research mainly focuses on machine learning and optimization techniques for advanced manufacturing, including (but not limited to)

  • Active Learning/Sequential Design
  • Physics-informed Machine Learning
  • Digital Twins
  • Additive Manufacturing

Recent Highlights

  1. Awarded Outstanding Doctoral Student of the Year by ISE at Virginia Tech. Apr 2023.
  2. Won the first position in IISE QCRE ProcessMiner Data Challenge Competition. May 2023.
  3. NVIDIA has implemented, verified, and cited the Stan Activation Function for Physics-Informed Neural Networks. Nov 2022.
